Browlift
BROWLIFT
Browlift or forehead lift is a procedure intended to both lift the eyebrow to a more esthetic position on the face. Ideally this is above the upper orbital bony rim in women, and at or near the rim in men. Descent of the brow is one of the first signs of aging and often using Botox to weaken the muscles that pull the brow down over years of facial animation is a first line treatment. If after these injections, the brow is still low, a Browlift may be of benefit. Sagging of the upper eyelids can result from a descended brow as well, but sometimes both a Browlift and a blepharoplasty might be suggested by the doctor if aging changes are significant enough. Often maintenance treatment with Botox is necessary to ensure the facial muscles do not cause a recurrence of a sagging brow. Incisions are placed either along the hairline, within the hairline, or very rarely just above the eyebrow.
